PowerComm USA employees provided maintenance services for the I-77 Toll Lanes project. The maintenance services were provided during the testing or burn-in phase of the project and included maintenance of 32 miles of HOT Lanes infrastructure, fiber optic communications network, tolling gantries, power service, overhead signage, 138,000 feet of fiber optic trunk line cable and drop cables to power service for 100 cabinets. Closed-Circuit-TV (CCTV) cameras, Tolling-Rate-System (TRMS) devices, Dynamic-Messaging-Signs (DMS), Aerial-Vehicle-Imaging (AVI) devices and Microwave-Vehicle-Detection (MVD) device and Road-Weather-Information-System (RWIS) devices. Traffic-Control-Signals (TCS), Intelligent-Transportation-Systems (ITS) and Digital-Control-Systems (DCS) devices located in the cabinets.
Employees of PowerComm USA were responsible for the construction of Georgia’s first venture into toll lanes and the nation’s first non-barrier toll lane. In addition, PowerComm USA was tasked with the initial maintenance of the toll lane project during the critical testing and burn-in period. Toll lane components included 120,000 feet of fiber optic cable, 52 overheads signs, 5 horizontal arm attachments and a 5.8 GHz wireless radio system. PowerComm USA employees were able to keep the toll lanes operational 100% of the testing period ensuring reliability of the network and safety to the traveling public.
Employees of PowerComm USA, working with the prime contractor, were responsible for installation, replacement, repairs and maintenance of non-operational or outdated signal and ITS equipment for this regional traffic operations initiative, which implements corridor traffic management throughout multiple jurisdictions. PowerComm USA team members provided repair and maintenance services for traffic signals, pedestrian signals, vehicle and pedestrian detection, poles and conversions to mast arm installations from span wire installations. The project includes 450 intersections in the top ten most congested areas of Metro Atlanta and the migration of Ethernet communications using copper, fiber, and wireless Ethernet media. The project was a task order based, on-call services contract issued and PowerComm USA employees were responsible for providing repair and maintenance services for over 300 signalized
intersections.
